Barbara Sebastian

Barbara Ann Sebastian, age 84 of Mandan formerly of Hebron died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the Medcenter One Health Care Center in Mandan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM CENTRAL TIME, Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Hebron with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt OSB, as Celebrant. Visitation will be after 4:00 PM CENTRAL TIME on Friday at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Mandan with Rosary at 7:00 PM CENTRAL TIME. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from noon until the funeral service at St. Ann?s Church in Hebron. Burial will be in the St. Ann?s Cemetery in Hebron, ND. Barbara Ann was born February 15, 1921 at Gladstone the daughter of Dominic and Catherine (Krug) Morel. She was raised and educated at Gladstone. After her school years she moved to Beach and worked as a waitress. On November 23, 1943 she married Matt Schwartz at Hebron. Following marriage they farmed North of Hebron until 1970 when they moved to Mandan. Matt died in July of 1971. Barbara continued to make her home in Mandan and in November of 1974 married Joe Sebastian. Barbara enjoyed dancing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She was at one time a member of the Christian Mothers in Hebron, and was still a member of the Eagles. Barbara recently moved into Medcenter One Healthcare Center in Mandan. She died there on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Those left to share the memory of her include her daughter Albertha ?Bertie? (Jack) Kroh, of Mandan and their children Sandy (Stacey) Bauer; and Mike (Joy) Kroh; her two sons: Gerald ?Jerry? Schwartz, Eugene, OR and his children: Todd (Sherry) Schwartz; Will (Tracy) Schwartz; Joye (Jeff) Nuckolls; and Matt Schwartz; and her son Gaylen (Kollene)Schwartz, Cresent Valley, NV and his children Nancy Reimer; Teresa (Steve) Schwarzwalter; Jamie (Vicky) Schwartz; Gwen (Mark) Praus; the children of her deceased daughter Diane Jahraus: Gary Jahraus and Shawn (Yvonne) Jahraus. She is also survived by her step daughter, Patricia (Ernie) Vollan, Bismarck and their daughter: Cindy (Frank) Nickel; Barbara?s step son: Neil Sebastian, Buffalo, WY and his daughter Genia Boesplug. Barbara also has 21 Great Grandchildren and four sisters: Margaret Anton, Marie Schwartz and Betty Kubas all of Dickinson; Irene (Felix) Childer, Miles City, MT; and one brother Frank (Regina) Morel of Gladstone. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Matt and Joe, one daughter: Diane; five sisters: Eva Tormaschy, Katherine Klemm, Rose Pechtl, Anna Bergenheier and Regina Morel. One daughter-in-law: Patricia Schwartz; two brothers: Carl and Joe Morel. The family would like to send special thanks to the people from Hospice and everyone at Medcenter One Care Center who took such good care of Barb.
