Barbara Wintermute

Funeral Services for Barbara Wintermute, 76, of Ekalaka, Montana will be 11:00 a. m. , Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Camp Crook Community Hall in Camp Crook, SD. With Pastor Dotty Parfrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Missouri Lutheran Cemetery in Capitol, MT. Visitation for Barbara will take place one hour prior to the funeral service. Barbara passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Dahl Memorial with her family by her side. Born Barbara Jean Teigen, November 26, 1939 to Raymond and Ruth Teigen. Barbara was born in Belle Fourche, SD and grew up on the family ranch, near Capitol, with her four siblings. Barbara graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1957. She married Gary “Ruggie” Buck. They raised their family on the Buck Ranch. Barbara was a longtime member of Carter County Cowbells, Montana Woolgrowers, and the Little Missouri Lutheran Church, and ran the High School Rodeo queen contest for many years. Barbara married Rudy Wintermute and they resided in Colstrip, MT for a time, Rudy worked for Montana Power and Barbara received her realtor’s license. After Rudy’s retirement, together they managed and owned motels in Idaho, Wyoming, and North Dakota. In 2002 they sold their motel in Crosby, ND and retired to Aladdin, WY. In 2013 they moved to Ekalaka, MT. Barbara’s greatest love was for her children. She also loved to dance and play piano. She spent countless hours filming rodeo, football, and basketball while her children were in high school. Barb is survived by her husband Rudy of Ekalaka, MT; son, Allan (Terri) Buck of Ekalaka; daughter, Melanie (Dave) Hout of Worland, WY; granddaughters, Raean Bilbrey, Tancy McDaniel, and Randi Hout; grandsons, Nick Hout and Colin Buck; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister, Norma (Whitey) Jardee, Mill Iron, MT; and brother Jack Teigen, Capitol, MT. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Teigen; sons, Randy, Brian, and Tayler; grandson, AJ Buck; and brothers’ Jim (Cy) and Jerry.
