Funeral Mass for Barbara (Koenig) Wooten, 47 of Chugiak, Alaska will be 11:00 a. m. Monday, May 22, 2006 at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker, MT with Father Thomas Tobin celebrating. Burial will take place at a later date. Barbara passed away Monday, May 15, 2006 in Anchorage, Alaska. Barbara A. Wooten was born November 13, 1958 to Arthur and Marge (O?Donnell) Koenig in Baker, MT. Barbara grew up on the family ranch northeast of Baker where she was the youngest daughter of seven children. She attended the O?Donnell country school through the eighth grade before finishing her education at Baker High School, graduating in 1977. It was then that Barbara moved to Alaska with her sister Margie and family. While there, she began working for Fastners Fire and Equipment where she continued to work for nearly 25 years. In 1986 Barbara married Jim Wooten in Anchorage, Ak. Jim and Barbara enjoyed camping in the Alaska Wilderness and the yearly visit of Barbara?s Mom and Dad. Survivors include: her mother, Marge of Baker, Montana; her husband, Jim of Anchorage, AK; two step-sons: Tony and Jason Wooten of Anchorage, AK; three brothers Dick (Linda) Koenig of Kingwood, TX, Howard (Michelle) Koenig of Kenei, AK, Steve (Carol) Koenig of Fargo, ND; three sisters: Lynda (Ceph) Jones of Torrington, WY, Margie Harris of Anchorage, AK, Jackie Shonka of Parker, CO, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her father, Arthur and a brother-in-law, Bruce Harris.
