Funeral Services for Beatrice Harker, 92, of Dickinson will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Burial will be at a later date in California Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. ? 9:00 p.m., Friday, continuing on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. ? 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center in Dickinson, ND. Beatrice was born on December 14, 1915 the daughter of Ole and Martha (Sand) Hovland in Perley, MN. She grew up and attended country school near Perley. Beatrice met Robert W. Harker and they were united in marriage at the Bethania Lutheran Church in 1943. Together they operated a dairy farm until September of 1977 when they moved to San Diego, CA. They remained in California for many years and after the death of Robert, Beatrice moved to Dickinson to be closer to her sons. In her younger years Beatrice taught Sunday School and belonged to the Bethania Lutheran Church Ladies Aide. She played several instruments as well as sang in a band for many years. Beatrice enjoyed gardening especially growing flowers and feeding the birds. She had a fondness for all animals yet her cats were very special to her. Survivors include, three sons, Dennis R. Harker, Sandstone, MN, Dale E. Harker, Dickinson, ND and Terry R. (Diane) Harker, Belfield, ND; five grandchildren, Brendan (Michelle) Harker, Shillington, PA, Tyson Harker, Overland Park, KS, Shandra (Lee) Pritchard, Bismarck, ND, Jordan Harker, Lincoln, NE, Revae Harker, Bismarck, ND; four great-grandchildren, Tayah & Averi Harker; (mother, Mari-Burns Harker) and Landon & Hayden Pritchard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; five brothers, Lawrence, Selmen, Hilmer, Jhlmer and Obert and four sisters, Alida, Jenny, Sophie and Minnie. Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, ND
