Mass of Christian Burial for Beatrice Heck, 85, of Dickinson 10:00 a. m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father James Braaten, celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with a vigil/rosary at 7:00 p. m. led by Deacon Gene Morman. Beatrice passed away on Friday, August 6, 2004 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Beatrice was born May 16, 1919 in Dickinson, ND to Philip and Regina (Brinster) Urlacher. She was raised and attended country school in Hettinger County. Beatrice began at a young age helping her parents on the family farm and she continued to until November 12, 1940. At which time Beatrice married Valentine Heck in St. Helens, North Dakota, south of New England. The couple together purchased a farm in Slope County, where they farmed and raised their family for the next 24 years. They retired and moved into Dickinson in 1970. Beatrice was a very accomplished seamstress, using her talents for altering clothes and working for Excel Cleaners. She was member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Pius Veirene. Beatrice enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and sharing time with her family, friends and neighbors. Beatrice cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beatrice will be greatly missed by her husband, Valentine of Dickinson; her children, James (Bernice) Heck of Dickinson, ND, Ernest (Betty) Heck of Missoula, MT; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Heck; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Pahl of Missoula, MT and Eugenia Messer of Richardton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Timothy and Lavern Heck; fours sisters, Eva Dukart, Veronica Decker, Regina Dukart, Clementine Decker; five brothers, George, Joe, Clemius, Philip and an infant brother.
