Funeral services for Beatrice Wanstrom, 86, of Almont, ND will be at 11 a. m. (CST), Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Almont Lutheran Church in Almont, ND. Burial to follow in the Almont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p. m. to 8 p. m. (CST), Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Glen Ullin, ND. Beatrice passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Med Center One, Bismarck, ND. Beatrice L. (Seim) Wanstrom was born October 21, 1922 in Almont, ND to Nels and Selma (Olson) Seim. She grew up on the family farm West of Almont. She attended and graduated from Almont Public School. After high school she attended college at Dickinson State University. On October 30, 1941 she married Elmer Wanstrom at the Sims Parsonage. To this union four children were born. After marriage the couple lived on the farm near Almont. In the mid 50?s Beatrice began teaching at country schools. While teaching, she went back to college to get her Bachelor?s Degree from the University of Mary. She continued teaching for nearly 40 years. She was twice nominated for Who?s Who Among American Teachers. Beatrice was greatly honored by these nominations. Upon completion of her teaching career, Beatrice lived in Almont until August of 2007, when she moved to the Elmcrest Manor in New Salem, ND. She had resided there until her passing. Beatrice loved crocheting and was famous for her quilts. Every family member has one of her specially made quilts. She was very active in the community of Almont. She was a member of the Almont Lutheran?s Women?s Group, the Legion Auxiliary, the Women?s Life Group and Sons of Norway. Beatrice passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Med Center One, Bismarck, ND. Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Rowan (Forrest) Rosendahl, New Salem, ND and Veralyn (Lance) Combs, Sparks, NV; sons, Kerry Wanstrom, Wasilla, AK and Orlyn (Darlene) Wanstrom, Bismarck, ND; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and special friends: Vicki, Ericka and Allison, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elmer, a great-grandson and two sisters.
