Funeral Services for Bernettie ?Bee? Burns, 64, of Baker, MT will be at 1:00 p. m. on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Janice Bair officiating. Interment will follow in the Lame Jones Cemetery south of Plevna, MT. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Friday, and will continue on Saturday, from 9:00 a. m. until the time of service. Bee passed away on Tuesday, January 08, 2008 at Glendive Medical Center in Glendive, MT. Bernettie Helen ?Bee? Burns was born on December 14, 1943, in Baker, MT a daughter of Vernon and Pearl (Sparks) Greenlee. Bee was named after her grandmothers, Bernetta Sparks and Helen Greenlee. Bee, as she was known by everyone, grew up on the family, ranch in rural Plevna, MT. Bee attended the Red Hill country school and attended Baker High School, graduating in the class of 1961. One of Bee?s enjoyments in school was being in the junior class play, ?Shoot a Mile?. After graduation, Bee went to continue her education, attending Eastern Montana College in Billings, where she obtained a Bachelor?s degree in Business in June 1966. After graduating from Eastern, Bee lived in Laramie WY, Columbia, MO, and Ashland, WI, before returning to Baker. Bee continued to make Baker her home, where she was actively involved in the community. Bee was a member of the Willard Homemakers Club, the Patchwork Quilting Guild, and RSVP. Bee was a devoted member of the Baker Community Church where she put together the monthly news letter as well as served as the Financial Secretary. Bee enjoyed the members of the church, especially the ladies. After retuning to Baker, Bee served as the Librarian for the Fallon County Library. In the recent years, Bee worked at the J& A Mini Store. She enjoyed her work as well as the many customers she served. In her spare time, Bee enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid collector, frequently collecting for others as well. Bee had a big heart and warm smile, and in her death she gave the gift of sight by donating her corneas and eye glasses. Bee is survived by her two children, Robert (Sharon) Burns, Alma, MI and Kara Burns, Boise, ID; three sisters, Faye (Jerry) Gaskin, Moorcroft, WY, Lucy (Red) Lovec, Sidney, MT, and Nancy (Lee) Curry, Ismay, MT; and a sister-in-law, Erna Greenlee, Baker, MT and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Pearl, and her brother, Larry Greenlee. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
