Bernice Wehri

Funeral Mass for Bernice Wehri, 101, of Glen Ullin, ND, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, ND, with Father Gary Benz celebrating.  Burial will follow at St. Clements Cemetery, Haymarsh, ND.  Visitation for Bernice will take place one hour prior to the service with a Rosary being held at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart.

Bernice passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at Marion Manor, Glen Ullin.

Bernice Wehri was born March 16, 1922, the daughter of William (W.F.) and Marcelina (Potts) Wehri at their home in Haymarsh, ND.  She grew up on the family farm and attended St. Clements school in Haymarsh.

Bernie worked for her brother Harry and his wife Louise and then later at the Hospital in Langdon, ND.  After a time, she returned home to the Family farm and was a homemaker for her mother and four of her brothers.  She was a parishioner at St. Clements Church, St. Ann’s Church in Hebron and later Sacred Heart in Glen Ullin.  She was a member of the St. Clements Christian Mothers and the Haymarsh Homemakers Club.

Bernie was a kind soul who was beloved by her parents, siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed chatting with her family and played pinochle every chance she got.  She rarely missed her daily Soap Operas.  She also spent many hours working on her embroidering.

In September of 2004, she and her brother Wally moved into Glen Ullin and then in December 2005 she became a resident at the Marion Manor Healthcare Center.

Bernie is survived by many nieces and nephews that are too numerous to mention here.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Angela along with her husband Louis Duppong, Alma along with her husband Tony Tavis, and Marcie along with her husband Ed Frueh; her brothers Urban and his wife Eleanor, Harry and his wives Louise and Lena, Cletus and his wife Anna, Arnold, Armin and his wife Georgiann, Waldo, Sylvester and his wife Marie.
