Funeral service for Bert Andes, 69, of Dickinson will be at 11:00am MDT on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Michael Barry officiating. Burial will take place in New Town at a later date.
Bert passed away Friday, September 20, 2024 surrounded by family.
Bert Andes was born in Minot, ND on November 24, 1954, the son of George and Jean (LaRock) Andes. He grew up on a farm south of Parshall, ND and graduated from Parshall High School in 1972. Bert completed his Architectural Drafting degree from Williston State College prior to achieving his Telecommunications degree from Wadena Technical College.
On October 9, 1981, Bert married Bonnie Steele in Parshall. Their lives were blessed with daughter, Nicole and son, Daryl. Following their education in Wadena in 1989, the family lived in Williston before moving to Dickinson in 1996. Bert worked at Consolidated Communications in Dickinson and retired in 2016. Bert’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was so proud of them and bragged about them all the time. Bert’s family and friends will surely miss his constant chatting and texting. Bert enjoyed reading books and working on projects around the house. He loved western movies, especially annoying films like Quigley Down Under. He also found a little time to camp and fish.Bert loved technology and new gadgets to tinker with! He also loved music and listening to his vinyl records! He enjoyed the scenery at Theodore National Park, Sunday drives, and watching the rain. Bert will also be remembered for telling ‘bad dad jokes’ that he has lovingly passed onto Daryl. One of his favorite pastimes was watching dirt track car racing and following the Dakota Modified Tour with Daryl and his grandsons.
Bert’s family would like to extend a ‘special thanks’ to the nurses at CHI, Bismarck.
Bert is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Nicole (Jason) Jochim of Mandan; son, Daryl (Sarah) Andes of Bismarck; six grandchildren, Jc, Mia, Lainy, Jaxon, Zell LaRue, and Ezra; great-grandchild, Josephine Andes; brother, Irvin (Patsy) Andes; sister, Lynda (Bobbie) Betts and numerous nieces and nephews that were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and George Andes; sister, Bonny S. Kirby; brother, Lynn Andes; nephew, Scott Andes; mother-in-law, Dorothy Steele.
