Bertha Klein

Funeral Service for Bertha Klein 87, of Glen Ullin will be 10:00 a.m., CT., Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation for Bertha will be from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3 at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Bertha passed away, Sunday, November 24 at Sunset Prospera in Mandan.

Bertha was born on the family farm ten miles east of Glen Ullin on March 13, 1932, the daughter to Henry and Christina (Stauss) Wetzel. As young girl, she loved school and was only able to attend school through the eighth grade. She learned the accordion and loved playing for people. Bertha married Joe Beierlein and together they raised seven children, Glen, Betty, Dianne, Jerry, Jim, Deb and Dianne on the family farm. Bertha moved into Glen Ullin and later married Marvin Klein who blessed her with two step children, Audrey and Cindy. Family was her whole world, her pride and joy. Spending time with them meant everything to her. Weekly dinners at her house on Sunday meant delicious homemade food and never going home hungry. Bertha loved being outside tending to her garden, watching her boys in the field during harvest time, riding in the combines and trucks. Bertha was a member of the American Legion.

She is survived by her children, Glen Beierlein, Jerry (Mary) Beierlein, Jim (Mary) Beierlein, Deb (Gene Kohler) Fitterer, Dianne (Rick) Kroh, step-children, Audrey Brick, Cindy Klein; siblings, Pete Wetzel, Oscar (Mildred) Wetzel, Eddy (Agnes) Wetzel, Irene Schnaidt,; grandchildren, Randy (Danielle) Schantz, Jennifer (Jesse) Koehler, Kyle (Hannah Iszler) Kroh, Jamie (Kristen) Beierlein, Jessie (Jordan) Miller, Amanda (Kyle) Gustin; step-grandchildren, Travis (Wanda) Thomsen, Chrissy (Zach) Brick-Contreras, Katherine (Jeremy) Waryan, Casey Winckler, Laikyn (Monte) Nilsen; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Phyllis Wetzel.

She is preceded in death by her, parents, Henry and Christina Wetzel; husband, Marvin Klein; infant daughter, Dianne; daughter, Betty (Sid) Sanden; brothers, Rudolph (Lydia) Wetzel, Alvin (Rita) Wetzel, Paul (Norma) Wetzel, Henry (Eleanor) Wetzel, Marvin (Adrella) Wetzel and Clarence Wetzel; and sister, Florence (Albert) Huber; sister-in-law, Irene Wetzel, Brother-in-law, Adolph Schnaidt.
