Bertha passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at St. Benedict’s Health Center.
Bertha was born October 15, 1927 in Dunn County, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Sadowsky) Ficek. As a young girl, she grew up on the family farm and graduated from Model High. She went on to receive her Teaching Degree and taught at the Iota #5 School house. Bertha married Anton Kralicek on June 18, 1947 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Together they farmed with his parents for a couple of years and then purchased Bertha’s parents farm in Dunn County where they farmed and ranched. Bertha worked in the office of Schnell Livestock until they started their family of Curtis and Buddine. Bertha and Tony enjoyed their life on the farm, working alongside each other until retiring in 2006, when they moved to Dickinson. Bertha enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing and she was a great cook who loved collecting recipes. Bertha was honored as North Dakota’s Hereford Woman of the Year. She was a bit of a social butterfly who enjoyed visits with her friends and neighbors and spending time at the Senior Center playing bingo. Bertha especially loved her kids, but her grandkids and great-grandkids were her pride and joy. She loved their overnight stays at her house and attending their activities. Bertha was a faith-filled woman who had a deep love of the rosary. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic. Bertha will be dearly missed.

(Brenda) Kralicek of Manning; daughter, Buddine (Harlan) Bullinger of Dickinson; grandsons, Jeremy (Jessica) Bullinger, Cade Kralicek, Jared (Bridget) Bullinger, Tyler (Chelsey) Kralicek; her only granddaughter, Jenna (Storm) Sammon; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Blanche Kovash of Dickinson; sister-in-law, Josie Kralicek of Dickinson; brother-in-law, Laudie Kostelecky of Killdeer; numerous nieces and nephews.
