Her Grandma Stein was the midwife at the time of her birth. Growing up she attended country school in the Hirschville area through the eighth grade. She then attended the NYA School for girls in Dickinson. While in school, Bertha met Adolph Lisko and they later married on June 9, 1941 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. This union was blessed with five children, Bonnie, Jim, Sandi, Bob and Kathy. Dickinson was their home and was where their children were raised. Bertha ran a daycare for several teachers in the community and this was a service she truly enjoyed. Bertha shared her goodness in the community, being a member of St. Joseph’s and St. Wenceslaus Catholic churches and being a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to decorate for the holidays and enjoyed the many friends and family who stopped in to celebrate these special days with her and Adolph. Christmas and then the 4th of July with music and dancing on their patio were always favorite occasions. She especially enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha and Adolph were blessed to celebrate 63 years of marriage together. Bertha is survived by her children, Bonnie Kisch of Bismarck, Sandi (Harvey) Tibor of Hebron, Bob (Joan) Lisko of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kathy (Kirk) Jorgenson of Dickinson; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Karen) Sigl of Jacksonville, FL.
