Bertha Marsh

Funeral Mass for Bertha Marsh, 76, of Dickinson will be 11:00 a. m. Saturday, November 25, 2006 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Austin Vetter celebrating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Friday, November 24, 2006 with Rosary and Vigil services taking place at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson ChapelBertha passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at her home in Dickinson. Bertha Marsh was born April 2, 1930 in Snow, ND to Nick and Fannie (Hauser) Wanner. She grew up and attended school in Belfield, ND. After school Bertha worked at the local grocery store in town for the next few years. On April 17, 1951 Bertha married Steven F. Marsh at St. Bernard?s Catholic church in Belfield. The couple made their home on the Marsh family farm near South Heart, ND. It was here that they raised their family of eight children. Along with working on the farm, Bertha also helped with driving the local school bus. After nearly 50 years on the farm Bertha and Steven retired to Dickinson where they have made their home ever since. Bertha and Steven enjoyed visiting their children and grandchildren. They also were fond of the winters they were able to spend in Arizona. Bertha and Steven delivered meals for Elder Care for several years as well as other volunteer work for R. S. V. P. Bertha also enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling league for many years. Bertha is survived by her husband of 55 years, Steven, Dickinson; two sons, Steve Marsh Jr. (and partner, Angie) of Sturgis, SD; Dale (Jeanne) Marsh of Wyndmere, ND; five daughters, Cindy (Richard) Gustafson of Rice, MN; Charlotte Ulmer of Dickinson; Sandra Wahl of Sauk Rapids, MN; Donna (Robert) Paluck of Dickinson; Patty (Kevin) Wilson of Aurora, CO; two brothers, Dan (Rose) Wanner of Dickinson, ND; Nick Wanner of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Dorothy (Ron) Blinston of Dickinson; Veronica (Marvin) Mann of Dickinson; fourteen grandchildren; one step-grandson, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Marsh; two brothers, Tony, John and two infant brothers; a sister, Monica Jones; and a grandson, Levi Wilson.
