Funeral service for Beryl Dinkins, 92, of Bismarck, formerly of Dunn Center, ND, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Killdeer, ND with pastor Gretchen Deeg officiating. Burial will follow at the Dunn Center Cemetery.
Visitation for Beryl will be from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Prayer Service taking place at 4:00 p.m.
Beryl passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Sanford Medical center Bismarck, ND surrounded by a major portion of her loving family.
Beryl Odren was born on October 11, 1932 in Dunn County, the daughter of Roy and Loye (Moffit) Odren. She grew up and was raised in Dunn Center, attended grade school and graduated from Dunn Center High School in 1950. During high school, Beryl worked for McConnell Electric. After graduation she moved to Lansing, Michigan and worked as an office worker for the summer. In the fall she came back to Dunn Center and taught country school for one year. On July 2, 1951, Beryl was united in marriage to Paul Dinkins at Normanna Lutheran Church in Dunn Center. To this union seven children, Paulette, Reyne, Kim, MaryDona, Carmen, Robyn, and Tina were born. Paul and Beryl lived and raised their family in Dunn Center, where she was a devoted mother. Beryl had a special passion for bowling and she enjoyed sewing. Hunting, fishing and playing cards were among her favorite hobbies.
Beryl was active in the community. She served as the Secretary of Normanna Church Board, Officers of the PTA, Secretary of St. Luke’s Board and President of the Dunn County Home Makers Club.
Beryl is survived by her six daughters, Paulette (Donald) Robison, Reyne (Daryl) Dukart, MaryDona (Jerry) Bauer, Carmen Eisenbraun, Robyn (Lyle) Richter, and Tina (Calvin) Eisenbraun; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Charlotte Odren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Loye Odren; step-father, Jess Whitaker; husband, Paul (2021); son, Kim Chesley Dinkins; son-in-law, Corey Eisenbraun; sisters, Mildred Remsing and Thelma Radousch, Edith Remsing, MaryAnn Peterson; brothers, Harry, Grover, Roy and Vernon Odren; several brothers and sisters-in-law; one grandson baby Helgeson, one granddaughter JohnnieRae Geving, great-grandchildren Daralyse Eisenbraun and Bentley Azure.
In lieu of flowers, Beryl’s family suggests memorials to Rhubarb Park, Dunn Center or Friends of Lake Ilo or Dunn Center Cemetery fund
