Funeral Service for Beryl Fettig, 93 of Killdeer will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, January 20, 2006 at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Killdeer. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2006 from 9:00 a. m . to 1:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Killdeer. Beryl passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Hill Top Home of Comfort in Killdeer. Beryl Evelyn Lewis was born April 17, 1912, near Oakdale, ND, to Noel B. and Ella Freml Lewis. She grew up in the Killdeer area and in Glidden, Iowa and graduated from Killdeer High School in 1928. Beryl married Anton J. Fettig on February 26, 1929, and they homesteaded and ranched in the Dunn County area. They later divorced. Beryl received degrees from what is now Dickinson State University and did further coursework at Minot State University. She taught in elementary school at Foxholm, Medicine Lake, MT, Alexander, Choteau, MT, and Mott, retiring in 1977 as a special education teacher at Mott. She then returned to rural Killdeer. A lifelong avid reader, Beryl also enjoyed gardening, travel, embroidery, genealogy and collecting antique china and glassware. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and North Dakota Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by two daughters, Lynell Sandvick and her husband, Thorris, Killdeer, and Sandra Fettig and her husband, Steve Wallick, Bismarck; a son, Anton L. Fettig and his wife, Maritza, Spring Hill, FL; two daughters-in-law, Ida, in Minnesota, and Laverne, in New Town; 16 grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her oldest son, Clinton; her brother and her three sisters; a granddaughter, Marla Sandvick Zingg; and a great-grandson, Jaxon Cvancara.
