Betty Makaruk

Funeral service for Betty Makaruk, 78, of Belfield will be held Thursday, July 5, 2007, 10:00 a. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Burial will be in the Dickinson Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Wednesday July 4, 2007 from 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Betty passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 in Belfield, ND. She was born June 16, 1929, the daughter of Elizabeth (Gawrylow) and Nick Strilchuk in Stark County. Betty grew up and attended schools in the Gorham area. She married William ?Bill? Makaruk at Gorham, ND. They later moved to Belfield, ND where they made their home and raised their two daughters, Christine and Evelyn. Through out the years, Betty cooked for various restaurants. She enjoyed woodworking and having coffee with her friends at the Trappers Kettle. She especially loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (Bill) Vokal of Desert Hot Springs, CA; an uncle, Nick Gawrylow and an aunt, Ella Gawrylow both of Belfield, ND: two grandchildren, Joshua Makaruk, Edinburgh, Scotland and Stephanie Vokal of Desert Hot Springs, CA.
