Funeral Services for Betty Sanden, 61, of Glen Ullin will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 10:00 a. m. CDT at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will be in the Evangelical Congregational Cemetery west of Glen Ullin.


Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p. m. CDT on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin, ND.


Betty passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, March 15, 2013 at her home in Glen Ullin, ND.


Betty was born March 27, 1951, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Wetzel) Beierlein. She grew up on the family farm north of Glen Ullin, attending country school before graduating from Glen Ullin High School in 1969. After graduation, she worked at the Sugar Cafe in Dickinson. Betty later returned to Glen Ullin where she worked for Marian Manor Health Care Center for the next 37 years. On October 10, 1975, Betty married Sidney Sanden at St. John’s Church in Hebron. They lived in Hebron for several years before they moved to Glen Ullin, making it their home ever since. Betty was a very selfless woman, giving of her time and gifts to everyone but herself. She loved animals and enjoyed camping, sunbathing and the outdoors, especially going out to Deb’s to enjoy the peace and quiet. She also enjoyed playing pranks on those who knew her. Betty found pleasure in watching movies (especially the Chipmunks), eating popcorn, family hayrides at the farm, trips to Dairy Queen with nieces and nephews, and family drives and traveling. Betty was a member of Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin, ND.


Betty is survived by her husband Sidney; her mother, Bertha Klein; step-son, Jeff (Melissa) Sanden of Jenks, OK; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ryan, Dylan; brothers, Glen Beierlein, Jerry (Mary) Beierlein, Jim (Mary) Beierlein, all of Glen Ullin; sisters, Deb Fitterer and Dianne (Ricky) Kroh of Glen Ullin; step-sisters, Audrey Brick of Minneapolis, MN and Cindy Klein of Mandan, ND; special friend, Gene Kohler of Glen Ullin; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Beierlein; step-father, Marvin Klein; infant sister, Dianne Beierlein; and step-son, Mike Wescott.
