Funeral Mass for Betty Lou Wenko, 55, Dickinson, will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, ND with Father Jim Braaten, celebrating. Interment will be at the St. Patrick?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Monday, January 28, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home with a vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Betty Lou passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Abbott Northwest Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Betty Lou Wenko was born on January 8, 1953, the daughter of Sam and Anne (Putschler) Wenko. She attended St. Wenceslaus School for two years and later P.S. Berg Elementary School and Dickinson High School, graduating in 1972. Betty Lou then volunteered as an Aid for Sr. Ann at St. Wenceslaus School. Her last employment was at St. Luke?s Home. After 24 years, Betty retired due to poor health. Betty loved all animals and cherished her companion Benji. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, crafts, fishing with her brothers and gardening. Betty enjoyed attending concerts and had the opportunity to meet Bobby Vee whom she considered a good friend. She was a member of St Wenceslaus Catholic Church and member of the St. Joseph?s Hospital Auxiliary. Betty Lou is survived by: her mother, Anne Wenko, Dickinson; twin brothers, Rodger (Lucy) Wenko, Williston and Rodney (Paulette) Wenko, Dickinson; one sister, Linda (Harris) Johnson, Bismarck, ND and five nieces and nephews; two special caregivers, Patricia Geving and Diane Auch. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Sam Wenko.
