A Funeral Service for Beverly Koenig, 65, of Baker, MT will be 2:00 p. m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with the Rev. Mark D. Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in the Koenig family lot in the Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, January 6th, and continue on Thursday, from 9:00 a. m. to the time of service. There will be a Prayer service on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p. m. in the Chapel. Beverly passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Beverly Ann Koenig was born on April 21, 1944, a daughter of Edward Albert and Bertha (Huether) Koenig in Baker, MT. Beverly grew up on the family farm northeast of Baker, where she attended the O?Donnell country school through the eighth grade. She attended Baker High School where she graduated in 1962. Following graduation, Beverly went to work for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Baker where she was a switchboard operator. While living in Baker, Beverly met Lyle Neary and the two were married at the Baker Community Church on April 24, 1964. To this union a daughter, Stacey Lee was born. Beverly and Lyle lived in various communities in Montana; Ronan, Arlee, Bridger and Glendive where Lyle worked various jobs. While living in Bridger, Beverly worked at the Yellowstone Furniture factory. Beverly and Lyle returned to Baker, where they would eventually divorce. After her return to Baker, Beverly worked for Glen Moore at the M & M Supply. Over the years, she worked for the State of Montana Brand Office, Ferrell Gas, the Fallon County Sheriff?s Office as a Correctional Officer in the jail and as a manager at the Montana Motel. Three very special jobs Beverly enjoyed was being a Mary Kay consultant, a US Census taker and working for EMI and DEAT out of Miles City as a supervisor of special needs people working in Baker. Beverly enjoyed being around people and loved to visit. She never met a stranger. In her spare time Beverly enjoyed growing flowers, plants and peppers. Beverly looked forward to having lunch with her friends, golfing and being the score keeper at the Medicine Rocks and Big Hill Buffalo shoots and helping at the local brandings. Beverly especially enjoyed being around her nieces and nephews and loved being their ?second grandma?, but her greatest love in life was for her daughter Stacey and son-in-law Jerry. Beverly is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Jerry Miller, Piedmont, SD; her siblings, Stella (Bill) Bigger, Oak Harbor, WA, Dennis (Faye) Koenig, Peggy (Kenny) Meccage and Ralph (Joan) Koenig all of Baker, MT and numerous Aunts, Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bertha, her infant sister, Gail, and her nephew and niece, Dustin and Kandi Koenig.
