Beverly Braun, age 52, of New Salem, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck after a 2 ? year fight with cancer. Friends may gather with the family during the visitation which will be at the Spangelo Funeral Home in Glen Ullin on Friday from 2-6 pm. As per Beverly?s wish the funeral services will be held privately. Beverly was born April 26, 1954 in Seattle, WA. At the age of 9 the family moved to Almont where she graduated from High School. After graduation Bev lived in California for awhile before coming back to North Dakota. Bev married Larry Schaner, at the age of 21 and together they had two children Scott and Jennifer. She furthered her education and completed a commercial art degree at BSC. She was employed by St. Alexius in the print shop using her artistic talents for the hospital?s brochures and magazines. Bev married Patrick Braun and together they had two sons, Michael and Nicholas. She worked for many years as manager and bartender in her parents bar in New Salem. When Bev became ill, she set goals for herself that she was determined to achieve. Bev wanted to be here for her son?s Scott?s wedding, and to make sure she saw her son, Mike, off safely to the Navy. Bev so much wanted to be here for the high school graduation of her son Nick, which will be later this month. We know she will be watching over him that day. Bev was so excited and looking forward to holding her first grandchild, a baby girl that will be born next month to Scott and Theresa. Another thing Bev looked forward to, was to see her daughter, Jennifer, graduate from college. She was able to complete three years before her mom became ill and she came home to be with her. She may not have achieved all of her goals that she had set for herself, but she taught all of us to accept challenges and to enjoy to the very fullest the life we have left. Bev was courageous to the end of her life and stubbornly did everything she could to keep her illness from taking her before she was ready. She never complained and she kept her sense of humor and infectious laugh though out her last days. She will be remembered for her zest for life, unfailing humor, and her exceptional devotion to her family and friends. Those left to share the memory of her love include her children: Scott (Theresa) Shaner, Beulah, ND; Jennifer Francisco, Center; Michael Braun, Gulfport, Miss. ; and Nicholas Braun, New Salem; her parents: Char and Bob Timpe, Bismarck. Her four brothers: Steven (Karen) Hutchinson, Galveston, TX; Kelly Hutchinson, Berlin, Germany; Marty (Joan) Hutchinson, Wenatchee, WN; and Brad (Julie) Timpe, Mandan; and their daughter Nora, who brightened Bev?s final months and weeks with her many visits to Bev?s bedside. Bev also leaves two special friends, Marilyn Vollmer and Carolyn Thorson.
