Bill Zarak, 70, rural South Heart, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. , Saturday, June 25, 2005, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, South Heart, with Fr. Shannon Lucht celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, with military rites provided by William C. Blair Post #144. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, June 24, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson with a rosary at 7 p. m. led by Glenn Wager for the Knights of Columbus, followed by a vigil led by Fr. Shannon Lucht. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. Bill Zarak was born January 29, 1935, in Dickinson to William and Mary (Adamski) Zarak. He attended grade school in Zenith and graduated from Belfield High School in 1952. Bill then attended UND for one year, but then returned to help his father farm. He entered the U. S. Army in 1956, and was honorably discharged in 1958. On September 20, 1958 he married Darlene Kubik in Belfield. Bill was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Club and Elks Lodge #1137. He served on various boards, including Farmers Union Elevator, Southwest Grain and Harvest States, which later became Cenex Harvest States. Bill enjoyed sporting events, which included golfing and bowling. Bill Zarak is survived by: his wife, Darlene, rural South Heart, ND; his children, Kelly (Galen) Kudrna, Stanley, ND, Mark (Missy) Zarak, Wahpeton, ND, Shawn (Randy) Kovash, Harrisburg, SD, William III ?Bill? (Tammie) Zarak, Neillsville, WI, Thomas Zarak, Fargo, ND, Gregg Zarak, Lake Tahoe, NV, Eric Zarak, Aberdeen, SD, and Chris Zarak, South Heart, ND; nine grandchildren, Cole, Cody, Carson and Carleigh Zarak, Kristin, Brandon, and Mary Cate Kovash, and Alexandra and Dakota Zarak; two sisters, Mary Brown, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; Grace (Mark) Roth, Hacienda Heights, CA, and one brother, George (Arlene) Zarak, South Heart, ND; two sisters-in-law, Doreen Altenburg, Dickinson and Doretta (Denis) Melby, Alexandria, Minn. and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Zarak; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, V. J. and Lil Kubik and one brother-in-law, Gil Brown. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Heartland Hospice, 30 West 7th Street, Dickinson, ND 58601.
