Blanche Pelissier

Funeral services for Blanche Pelissier, 86, of Dickinson, ND will be at 1:30 p. m. , Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Medora Community Center, Medora, ND. Burial will be in the Harmon Tetly Cemetery south of Medora, ND. Visitation will be from 12 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND and continues on Thursday, May 7, 2009 one hour prior to the service at the Medora Community Center. Blanche (Harmon) Pelissier, daughter of Bert Harmon and Gertie (Tetly) Harmon was born in Holten, OR. Jan 18, 1923. She went to grade school at the Tetly school south of Medora, and high school in South St. Paul, MN. Blanche married Bernie Pelissier, May 24, 1941, in Glendive MT. They moved to South St Paul, where Bernie was a brand-inspector. In 1942 Bernie enlisted in the coast guard. After the war, they worked for various ranches until they moved to the Pelissier Ranch. In 1956 they moved to northern British Columbia, where they ranched for 14 yrs. They moved back to the family ranch in ND. in 1970. Blanche moved to Dickinson in 1977 after Bernie?s death. She worked part-time at Woolworths, and later, for John G. Kinnard Brokerage in Dickinson. Blanche took many trips with her family and friends; she lived a long adventurous life. She passed away May 4 at her home under the care of her family and the wonderful staff of Hawks Point. Blanche is survived by their four children, Laura (Bud) Griffin, Jim (Tina) Pelissier, Linda (Larry) Fritz, and Todd Pelissier; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials can be given to the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame or a favorite charity.
