Funeral Mass for Blase Deichert, 71, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Schumacher and Father Robert Shea Con-Celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph cemetery.
Visitation for Blase will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil being held at 6:00 p.m.
Blase passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Dickinson.
Blase John Deichert was born on December 5, 1951, in Flasher, ND. He grew up on the family farm south of Raleigh, ND. He attended St. Gertrude’s School in Raleigh, and Hanson’s Mechanical School in Fargo, ND. In 1971 he started as a diesel mechanic in Flasher.
He met the love of his life, Terri (Theresa) Kilzer, in 1977, then moved to Dickinson to be with her. After the move to Dickinson, he started at Letvin Equipment Company as a diesel mechanic, became a shop manager, and finished his career in 2017 as a sales manager at Dakota Farm Equipment.
He married Terri on September 21, 1979. They raised their 3 children in Dickinson.
Blase was loved by everyone. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was the neighborhood handyman, and always had spare parts for any project stashed away in his yard shed.
Blase had many hobbies. He loved doing yard work and gardening. His yard was always in pristine condition. He loved riding his motorcycle, taking many road trips with Terri and family. He loved his family more than anything, loved hosting family get-togethers, and sitting around the fire pit in the back yard.
Blase is survived by his wife, Terri; son, Evan (Erin) Deichert; daughters Brittany (Jordan Kay) Deichert, and Rebecca (Alex) Brown, all of Dickinson; mother, Magdalena Deichert, Bismarck; brothers Ted Deichert, Gladstone, Bernie Deichert, Dickinson, Charles Deichert, Bismarck, Gene (Joann) Deichert, Bismarck, Mike (Jolene) Deichert, Wilton; sisters Mary Hultberg, Bismarck, Helen (Dennis) Baumgartner, Mandan, Donna Deichert, Bismarck, and Delores (Pat) Messer, Mandan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Deichert; and sister, Hilda Freadrich.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St Wenceslaus Parish.
