Bobby Cook of Austin, Texas, formerly of Dickinson, passed away on January 19, 2011.
Bobby was born in Morton, Texas, the youngest child of Joe and Priscilla Cook, on January 28, 1931.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by Rose Cook, his wife of 57 years. He is also survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Lynne and John Curran of North Richland Hills, Jackie and Charles Puska of Georgetown, and his son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Christi Cook of Surprise, Arizona. He is survived by grandchildren Calie Curran, Cole and Connor Puska, Hunter, Madison and Sophia Cook, and David and Dane Cooper.
Bobby attended Morton Schools, Eastern New Mexico University and The University of Texas at Austin, graduating there with a BBA degree. Later he became a Certified Public Accountant. He served in the US Army in Atlanta General Depot and in US Army Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. He retired from The University of Texas at Austin as Associate Vice President and Business Manager after thirty-three years of service. Bobby attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, becoming a member when its doors first opened. He organized Boy Scout Cub Pack 489 with four dens, and became its first cub master.
Visitation and viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Austin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday on January 26, 2011. Burial will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Austin.
