Funeral Mass for Robert “Bobby” Hadley, 76, of Marmarth ND, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marmarth with Father Paul Eberle celebrating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
Visitation for Bobby will be 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 8th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with a rosary and vigil service being led by Fr. Phillip at 4:00 p.m.
Bobby passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his residence.
Robert was born June 24, 1941 in Baker MT, the son of Raymond and Helen (Leary) Hadley. He grew up and attended school in Marmarth. At a young age, he and Jack began delivering the Billings Gazette in Marmarth. At the age of 11, they began working for Dobbs and Mike Sonsalla, later working with the Milwaukee railroad crew for a short time. Bobby returned to the Sonsalla Ranch where he worked for the next 39 years, until Mike passed away. He then began his own ranch and operated it until 2012. In 1997, Bobby formed Buffalo Creek Cattle Corporation with his brother Jack and his nephews. He enjoyed watching PBR bull riding and attending area rodeos, especially the Fourth of July rodeo in Marmarth. Bobby was a member of the Marmarth Fire Department and an active member of St. Mary’s where he helped with the building of the church. Bobby was a great neighbor to everyone, always generous in helping his friends and family. He will be missed.
Bobby is survived by his brother, Jack (Carolyn) Hadley of Baker; nephews, Jeff (Josie) Hadley of Plevna, Joe (Jodee) Hadley of Brookings, SD, John (Carol) Hadley of Marmarth, Justin (Brook) Hadley of Billings, Jarrett (Robyn) Hadley of Baker; nieces, Patti Herbert of Seely Lake, MT, Theresa Hadley of Columbia Falls, MT, Darcy Hadley of Red Lodge, MT; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Hadley; brother, James Hadley; nephews, Michael and William; great-nephew, Jason Lee.
