Liturgy of the Word service for Calvin Heinle, 67, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a. m. , Friday, April 18, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Deacon Ron Keller celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation for Calvin will be 11:00 a. m. – 8:00 p. m. , Thursday, April 17th at the funeral home with a vigil service being held at 6:00 p. m. Calvin passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Calvin was born in Hebron on December 27, 1946, the son of Ben and Ella (Delzer) Heinle. He grew up and attended school in Hebron. Cal joined the US Army in 1966 and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge in 1969, he returned to North Dakota where he began his career with Burlington Northern Railroad. Cal married Sandra Trautman in 1971 and with her son, Jim, they made Hebron their home. To this union, Steven and Susan joined the family. In 1993, Cal met Dorothy Ann Meissner and her daughters Kari and Kelli. To their union, Kayla joined the family and together they raised their family in Dickinson. In Cal’s early years, he enjoyed rodeoing, especially bull riding. He loved to tinker, do wood carving and go summer and winter fishing. His love was always for his children, grandchildren and his companion “Peppy”. Calvin is survived by his daughters, Susan Grinsteinner, Kari (Kyle) Keighley, Kelli (Erik) Lindborg and Kayla (special friend, Jamie Iverson) Heinle; his sons, Jim Trautman and Steven Heinle; brothers, LeRoy (Carol) Heinle and Lyonole Heinle; sister, Idella (Randall) Tuttle; and six grandchildren, Jocelyn, Rylie, Anders, Emerik, Matthew and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ella; and his wife, Dorothy.
