Jim passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck.

Calvin “Jim” Huber was born on February 23, 1947 to Chris and Esther (Haar) Huber in Miles City, Montana. He grew up on his family farm near Willard, Montana where he helped his father farm and ranch. He graduated from Plevna High School in 1965. After graduation, Jim went to Eastern Montana College for a year.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn Ruff, on June 11, 1966 in Plevna. The couple was blessed with two boys, Troy and Rick. Jim began working for Clarence Schell at the locker plant in Baker before starting his career in the Oil Field. Jim’s job moved the family to Killdeer, North Dakota in 1976 where they lived until 2022. Jim worked as the maintenance supervisor for Hilltop Home of Comfort until buying G&G Meat Processing in Richardton. In 2002, Jim and Evelyn began working nights at Walmart, all while still working in the Oil Field. In 2017, Jim retired from all his jobs, but still took care of his cattle and horses.

Jim loved watching the Packers, Yankees, and supporting his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids through all their sporting events. He never missed a game. He loved all animals, playing corn-hole, but most of all spending time being with his family.

Jim attended Bible Study at Living Word Fellowship where he met great friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Dickinson; sons, Troy (Jody) Huber of Dickinson, and Rick Huber of Utah; grandchildren, Haley (Tylor) Kelley, Lindsey (Andrew) Heckaman, Carley Huber, and Tanner (Erin) Huber; great-grandchildren, Cody, Khloe, Austin, Steven, Adalynn, and Everly; brothers, Ben Huber of MT and Ken Huber of NM; and sisters, Marilyn (Bob) Celander of TX and Charlotte Schroeder of MT.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Esther; and brothers, Arlie and Loren.
