Funeral services for Calvin Raab, 60, of Elgin, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, October 24, 2016 at Assembly of God Church, Mott, ND with Pastor Darrel Pritchard officiating. Burial will take place in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott. Visitation for Calvin will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Calvin passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home, with his family by his side. Calvin Daniel Raab was born on June 12, 1956 to Andrew Verne and Delores (Plunkett) Raab. He grew up and attended schools in Mott. While attending school he worked at the Mott Bakery. After graduation he worked as a farm hand at the Hardmeyer farm. Calvin attended the law enforcement academy in the early 1980’s and after graduating from the Academy he began his career in law enforcement with the Mott Police Department and later with the Hettinger County Sheriff’s Department until 1997. In 1997, Calvin met Juleen Turbiville and they began their life together. He attended the St. Alexius Paramedic School in Bismarck to further his education. In 1999, he began working on his sister and brother-in-law’s farm in New Leipzig and remained there until the time of his death. Calvin enjoyed doing carpentry and electrical work. He also collected eagles and coins and liked playing card games with family and friends. He especially loved being with his grandchildren and tickling them. Calvin is survived by his companion, Juleen of Elgin; daughters, Susie (Justin) Meier of Richardton; Darlene (Tom) Wyman of New Hradec; 4 grandchildren, Chase Meier, Cailey Meier, Colton Meier, Charles Wyman; siblings, Dennis (Mary) Raab of Carson, ND; Sharan (Ray) Taylor of Miles City, MT; Cindy (Cliff) Schatz of New Leipzig, ND; Tim Raab of Dickinson, ND, Wanda Norton (special friend Shawn McFarland) of Mott, ND; Norman Raab of Mott, ND, Terry Raab of Argusville, ND; brother-in-law, Tom Masulis of Tucson, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Glenda Masulis and Roberta Tilson; brother, Douglas Raab; sister-in-law, Madonna Raab; brother-in-law, Tom Tilson.
