A Liturgy of the Word service for Calvin Roshau, 62, of Crossville, AL, formerly of Killdeer, ND will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer, with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will follow at the Killdeer Cemetery.
Calvin passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at his home in Crossville, AL.
Calvin Joe Roshau was born July 7, 1954 to Joseph and Eva (Schmalz) Roshau in Dickinson, ND. He grew up in Killdeer, attending school there and graduating from Killdeer High School in 1972. After graduation he spent several years working in the oil field, which led him to Alabama. It was here where he met his wife, Jean, and the two were married. Calvin later went to work for Rail Car Salvage Yard where he worked for over 30 years. After Jean passed away in 2012, Calvin continued to live in Crossville, AL for the remainder of his days.
Calvin enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. In his earlier years he enjoyed sketching and painting. Calvin was a talented artist like his dad. He was an avid Crimson Tide football fan and followed them religiously.
Calvin is survived by his brother, Tim Roshau of Killdeer, ND; sister, Paula (Lonny) Maclin of Bismarck, ND; nieces and nephews, Aaron & Chelsea Mittlestadt and Kevin & Tyler Roshau.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; parents, Joseph and Eva; and brother, Gregory Roshau.
