A Memorial Mass for Carol Herbst, 71, of Baker, MT will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker, MT. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19th at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Carol Kay Quincer was born August 5, 1940 to Jacob and Anna (Koenig) Quincer. She was the youngest of five girls. Carol attended all of her school years in Plevna. It was early on in her Plevna school years that she met Robert (Bob) Herbst and shortly after proclaimed that, “she was going to marry that Bob Herbst.” On September 2, 1961 she married her high school sweetheart, best friend and the love of her life. They were united in marriage at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Plevna, Montana. To this union four children Kay, DeAnna, James and Brandon were brought together. After graduating from Plevna High School in 1958, Carol attended Billings Business College. Through out her professional life Carol held several positions: office manager for General Adjustment Bureau in Montana and Colorado, owner operator of The Side Door and The New Image clothing stores, and secretary for Herbst Insurance in Baker, MT. Bob and Carol loved to travel. They would often just jump in the car with no map and no plans and always had a great adventure. For their 40th wedding anniversary they took to the road for three weeks; again with no plans and had a wonderful time together traveling through the western United States. The two also enjoyed taking trips with family, including touring through the Black Hills and vacationing on cruises. Carol’s life revolved around the lives of her children and her grandchildren, keeping up with sports, academics and faith. Carol shared a special bond with all of her sisters. The Quincer sisters spent countless hours on the phone and had many, many special memories. She was a pro in the kitchen. Among her specialties, were German chocolate cake, and strudels; always in high demand, copied often, but never duplicated. A daily concern of Carol’s was making sure her husband was well kept and well fed. Their relationship was one anyone could be envious of, and Bob and Carol celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 2011. Carol passed away on March 16, 2012 at Fallon Medical Complex after her short, but courageous battle with cancer. Those Carol leaves behind are her husband Bob, her children Kay( Kevin Petersen ) Castle Rock, CO, DeAnna (Luke Holestine) Baker, MT , James (Kim Groshans) Parker, CO and Brandon (Stephanie Ferrel) of Aurora, CO .
