Carol was born on February 2, 1936 in Bozeman, Montana, the daughter of Clarence and Annabelle (Fitzsimmons) Matthew. She grew up and attended school in Bozeman, graduating from the Gallatin High School in 1954. Carol was married to Bob Lefor on September 5, 1955 in Bozeman, MT. They moved to Glendive for a short time before moving to Dickinson in 1959. Her dreams of being a nurse just like her mother were put on hold while she stayed home to raise her five children: Mike, Greg, Susie, Dianne and Todd. When her youngest child, Todd entered grade school, Carol joined Bob at DCI Credit Services, Inc. , managing the collection department. She excelled in this role, and led a profitable department for twenty six years. Together the couple worked and raised their family in Dickinson. Carol was goal-oriented, eager to learn and she took business and business law courses from Dickinson State University, and received several industry certifications and recognitions. Her infectious smile and intensely playful personality is visible in all her children who share her fun-loving attitude and view of the world. She was always supportive and proud of her children and grandchildren. Carol often sacrificed her own time and money in support of them. Carol organized the Dickinson Community Theater and served as president for many years. She put her heart and soul into making it a great success for the community. She was an accomplished bridge player and enjoyed playing in bridge tournaments. Carol volunteered her time for many different clubs and events and encouraged her family to be involved in the community and in politics. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and past member of Catholic Daughters. Survivors include, three sons, Mike (Sherryl) Lefor, Dickinson, ND, Greg (Beth) Lefor, Lititz, PA and Todd (Jennifer) Lefor, Fargo, ND; two daughters, Susie Lefor and Dianne Lefor both of Dickinson, ND; six grandchildren, Brett, Scott, Andi, Christopher, Sarah and Joshua; Special Friend, like a daughter, Nami Luitel Paudel from Nepal, and special friends, Bridget Larkin, Linda Weiler, Vicki Hoff, Veronica Gayda, Betty Schneider and Rosemary Reisinger.
