Funeral services for Caroline Wolfe, 92, of Dickinson, ND, will be 11:00 a. m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Charlie Heidt celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be Thursday, March 25, 2010, from 11:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, continuing from 5:00 to 9:00 p. m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a Rosary and Vigil Service held at 7:30 p. m. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 26, 2010, from 8:00 to 10:00 a. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Caroline Stoltz Wolfe was born August 20, 1917, the daughter of Sebastian and Celestine (Frank) Stoltz. As a young girl she grew up and attended country school in Stark County. Caroline married John J. Wolfe on November 21, 1933, in Gladstone. They made their first home and farmed southeast of Dickinson. In 1939, they moved into Dickinson for three years. In 1942, they bought a farm five miles northeast of Dickinson where they raised their three children. To this union was born Arthur, Marlene and Shirley. Mom was a homemaker and farm wife. She would often be seen helping rake hay, cultivating corn, or hauling hay. In 1960, they built a home and moved into Dickinson where she has resided since. Caroline enjoyed tending a large garden, canning and baking. She was considered a fantastic cook and will be remembered for her old fashioned German cooking. Caroline was also an excellent seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, and making clothes for her children. She also made custom draperies for many people in the Dickinson area. Caroline is survived by a son, Arthur (Marie) Wolfe, Dickinson; a daughter, Shirley (Alvin) Ficek, Rapid City, SD; a son-in-law, Marvin (Marge) Messer, Arizona; a brother, Joe (Josephine) Stoltz, Colorado; five sisters, Margaret Paulson, Dickinson, Clara (Martin) Berzel, Oregon, Agnes Feiling, Idaho, Helen (Robert) Hauck, Washington State, Elsie Kubishta, Dickinson; a sister-in-law, Wiletta Stoltz, Dickinson; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John J. ; a daughter, Marlene Messer; a brother, Paul Stoltz; and a sister, Betty Trana.
