Carrie was born March 12, 1923 in Marmarth, North Dakota to Albert and Margaret Kimbro. She graduated from high school at Marmarth, North Dakota. On October 2, 1942, she married Kenneth Narum in San Antonio, Texas. After the war, Ken and Carrie moved to Amidon, North Dakota where they lived until they moved to Canon City, Colorado in 1973. In 1993, they moved to Fort Collins to be near family. While living in Amidon, she enjoyed writing humorous stories and plays for the county fair and family events. She shared her love of adventure with her family whether it was camping, museums or traveling in the states or abroad. In later years she was a voracious reader and was never seen without a book. She was an expert at spoiling all she loved.

Carrie is survived by her children, Mildred (Richard), Margaret (Rodney), William (Sandy), John (Diold), Kathy (Dean), Mary (Steve), James (Heidi); 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Carrie in death are her husband, Kenneth; and sons, Kenneth, Jr. and Thomas Robert.
