Catherine Lefor

Catherine T. Lefor, 89, Dickinson, died Sunday, February 1, 2004, at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at St. Elizabeth?s Catholic Church, Lefor, with Fr. Basil Atwell, O. S. B. celebrating. Interment will be in St. Elizabeth?s Cemetery, Lefor. Visitation will be 2:30 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Tuesday, February 3, 2004, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary being said at 6 p. m. led by Marian Ringwall. Catherine Janish was born September 25, 1914 in Parkston, South Dakota, to Rudolph and Lena Janish. Catherine received her teaching certificate from Dickinson State Teacher?s College and taught school at Garden School and Lefor School. She was a housewife, a bookkeeper for Lefor Cheese Co. , and was a clerk for the Stark County Tax Assessor. She married Frank Lefor on August 20, 1935, in Lefor. She was a member of Christian Mothers, Homemakers Club, was a 4-H Leader, served as a clerk of the Lefor School Board and was an avid fisherman. Frank died in August of 1989. She entered St. Benedict?s Health Center December 24, 1992. Catherine is survived by: three sons, Wayne Lefor, Charleston, SC, Daniel (Debra) Lefor, Denver, CO, Al Lefor, Divide, MT; one daughter, Bonnie (Ray) Robertson, Fargo, ND; one brother, Francis Zahel, Clyde, OH; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by: her husband and one brother, Mickey Thompson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Benedict?s Health Center, 851 4th Ave. E. , Dickinson, ND 58601.
