Catherine Sanders

Funeral Mass for Catherine Sanders, 93 of Dickinson is 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Dennis Schafer celebrating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. at the Chapel. Catherine passed away Saturday, May 28, 2005 at St. Luke?s Home in Dickinson. Catherine was born August 16, 1911 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Joseph and Magdeline (Zarak) Dasovick. After the death of her father, the family moved to Zenith, ND in October of 1922. Catherine attended grade school in Zenith and Dickinson High at Dickinson, ND for two years. She was married to Theodore J. (Ted) Sanders on July 30, 1932 at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church in Belfield, ND. They were blessed with five children. Catherine and Ted farmed the home place for 34 years before retiring into Dickinson in October of 1974. They joined St. Joseph?s Parish where Catherine was a member of Christian Mothers, St. Anne?s Society and Catholic Daughter Court, St. Catherine 323. She enjoyed singing and music, was an avid reader and loved gardening; especially her flowers. Catherine enjoyed her grandchildren and loved to bake for them. Survivors include two sons: Theodore Joseph (Sharon) Sanders of Stayton, OR and Donald (Darlene) Sanders of Dickinson, ND; two daughters: Dorothy (Gordon) Fox of Reno, NV and Donna (Sam) Pasicznyk of Dickinson, ND; a son-in-law, David Van Leeuwen of Moreno Valley, CA; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore; a daughter, Margaret Van Leeuwen; two brothers: Mike and John Dasovick and two sisters: Mary Tuhy and Eva Dasovick.
