Catherine A. Tormaschy, 95, Dickinson, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p. m. , Saturday, November 5, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer, celebrating. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 10 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, November 4, 2005 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary and prayer service at 7:30 p. m. led by Deacon Ralph Stockert. Catherine Pfeiffer was born September 25, 1910 to Franz and Anna Marie (Nuber) Pfeiffer in Hirschville, ND. They lived in a two room stone house by Hirschville until 1924. They then moved to a farm with two bedrooms and no bathroom (outhouse only). Catherine had four sisters, Rose, Betty, Margaret, and Eva, and four brothers, Martin, Pete, Frank and Joe. She married Henry Tormaschy on November 15, 1927 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gladstone. They lived on a farm 6 miles north of Gladstone. In the fall of 1940, they moved to the Siles Gregg Farm 3 miles north of Gladstone. Five boys were born to them, Arthur, Carl, Eugene, Ernest and Paul. There they raised cattle, grain and corn. They retired in 1966, and left the farm and moved into Dickinson, where Catherine enjoyed her gardening, flowers and sewing. She also made many quilts for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by: three sons, Eugene (Margaret) Tormaschy, Taylor, Ernest (Elaine) Tormaschy, Gladstone, Paul (Jane) Tormaschy, Gladstone; one daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Tormaschy, Dickinson; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Eva Clark, Chehalis Wash. , and four sisters-in-law, Delma, Billie, Charlotte and Martina. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Henry, who passed away on September 16, 1991 at the age of 90; two sons, Arthur, who died on November 12, 1928 at the age of 2 months, Carl, who died May 29, 1990 at the age of 60, one grandson, Mark, who died on July 31, 1994 at the age of 24; three sisters, Rose, Betty, and Margaret, and four brothers, Martin, Pete, Frank and Joe.
