Cayden passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Dahl Memorial Hospital in Ekalaka, MT as the result of an ATV accident at the family ranch. Cayden Wayne Higgins was born on January 5, 2007, in Spearfish, SD, the son of Courtney and Crystal (McAnlis) Higgins. He was raised on the family ranch in the Ridgway area. Cayden started each day by telling his Mom and Dad, ?Let?s go to work!? He was always ready to go to a rodeo or stock show. Cayden had an affectionate smile and a great little sense of humor that bubbled out. He enjoyed selling trailers with his dad and usually tried to throw in a pickup on the deal. Cayden was through and through a John Deere man; he liked anything that was a tractor. He helped move sheep from pasture to pasture, either on his horse Peanut Butter or riding the four-wheeler. Cayden was always helping his Dad and Grandpa. He was very proud to win the pet parade on Peanut Butter at the Days of 85. His little brother Colyn was his favorite pal and Cayden always looked out for him. Cayden really enjoyed being outdoors, yet he would sit down with his Grandma and learn how to run the sewing machine as well. By watching his dad use many power hand tools, he became familiar enough that he could also operate them. He loved having his cousins come to visit and enjoyed seeing and playing with them. As young as he was, he always worried about his Grandpa. While working cows, Cayden asked his Grandpa ?Are you hungry?? After getting a ?Yes!? from Grandpa, he showed up back at the corrals with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the two of them. As much as Cayden loved being with his Dad, there was a special love and bond between a boy and his mom that could be seen in those big blue eyes Cayden stole everyone?s heart with his blue eyes, curly blond hair and his huge personality that will never be forgotten. Survivors include, his parents Courtney & Crystal and brother Colyn all of Hammond, MT; grandparents, Doran & Sharon Higgins, Hammond, MT; Gale & Holly McAnlis, St Onge, SD formerly of Boulder City, NV; great-grandparents, Lee & Bettie McAnlis and Terry & Margaret Phelps all of Arizona and Doris Scrutchfield, Sheridan, WY; his aunts and uncles, Terri Raye (Tim) McInerney, Alzada, MT, Mikel (Troy) Fruit, Ekalaka, MT, Cam (Lee) LaBree, Ekalaka, MT, Renee Higgins, Broadus, MT and Debra (Lance) Huber, Spearfish, SD; and numerous cousins He was preceded in death by Richard Higgins and Pari and Lancer Higgins.
