Cec passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 with her family by her side at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson. Cecilia (Kuntz) Jorgensen was born March 11, 1930 to Martin and Wilhelmina (Greff) Kuntz. Cec grew up on the family farm in Hettinger County, attending school in both the Hettinger and Dickinson areas. Later, Cec moved to Washington State, where she met Ralph K. Jorgensen. The two were married on February 14, 1948 in the Church of Visitation in Tacoma, WA. The couple made their home in the Tacoma area and were blessed with a daughter, Susan. After Ralph passed away in May of 1952, Cec and Susan moved back to Dickinson to be with family. Cec began her career at J. C. Penney’s in 1953 and eventually became the supervisor of the women’s department until she retired in 1992 after 39 years. Cec loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit 48 of the 50 states. She also enjoyed reading, walking and playing cards. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and three great grandchildren. Cec was a deeply religious person and had a very strong faith. Sharing her love of God and church, Cec rarely missed daily mass, rosary, or Eucharistic Adoration. She faithfully lit her Votive candle for each of her sick family members. She was also very involved in St. Benedict Court prayer group and enjoyed her Saturday morning coffee group there. Cec will be remembered for her kind and giving spirit that always placed others’ needs ahead of her own. Cec is survived by her daughter Susan (Gary) Bleth of Dickinson; her granddaughter, Samantha (Jason) Tuhy, Dickinson; three great grandchildren, Jackson, Grace and Chloe; sisters, Tillie (Leo) Stein of Gladstone, ND; Ann Heidt of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law George Koffler of New England, ND, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph, brothers Martin, Henry, Vincent, Pete and infant brother Anthony; sisters, Eva Wanner, Elizabeth Jordan, Minnie Koffler, Helen Mullen and infant sister Margaret. Cecilia’s family suggests memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
