Chandler Schmidt

A funeral service for Chandler Schmidt, 21, of Glen Ullin, ND, will be 10:30 A. M. , CDT, Friday, July 29, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor Albert Lautenschlager officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation for Chandler will be 5:00 P. M. – 8:00 P. M. , CDT, Thursday, July 28th at the church with a prayer service being held at 6:00 P. M. , CDT. Chandler passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 due to natural causes. Chandler Walter Schmidt was born August 4, 1994 in Bismarck, just ahead of his twin brother, Coleton,bringing great joy to his parents, Jamie and Rhonda Schmidt, and his older brother Channing. He grew up on the family farm south of Glen Ullin and attended school in Glen Ullin. While growing up on the farm, he and his brother Coleton could be found riding dirt bike, riding horses, playing on hay bales, going onfour-wheeler rides to check cows and enduring many unforgettable adventures together. The boys shared a love for basketball at a young age and played together in many optimist tournaments as well as on a team until their freshman year in high school. While Chandler was growing up, you could usually find him with Landon and Coleton, who were known as “The 3 Amigos”. Chandler and Coleton have always been best friends despite the many short lived feuds they may have had, they have always had each other’s back. Together, Chandler and Coleton worked diligently to help keep their older brother, Channing, in line by ensuring that Mom and Dad knew exactly whathe was up to. Chandler had many jobs after high school, but was currently working as a farmhand. He recently started raising his own bottle calves with hopes of someday taking over the family farm in partnership with Coleton. Chandler was a jokester who had a wonderful sense of humor that was loved by everyone who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and was full of life. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, including his nephew, Camden and niece, Zaylee, along with his dog Bella, who was his faithful companion. He loved football and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Chandler will be remembered for his generous and giving attitude and his big, wonderful smile. Chandler is survived by his parents, Jamie and Rhonda; brother, Channing (Lauren) Schmidt and nephew, Camden and niece, Zaylee of Dickinson; twin brother, Coleton Schmidt of Glen Ullin; Grandparents, Roger and Louise Roth; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant sibling and his grandparents, Darla and Walter Schmidt.
