Funeral Services for Charles Ferrel, 90, of Baker, MT will be 10:00 a. m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with the Reverend Father Thomas Tobin officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p. m. in the Ollie Cemetery at Ollie, MT. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Stevenson Funeral HomeCharlie passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Horizon Hospice House in Billings, MT after a very short illness. Charles F. Ferrel was born on August 12, 1921, on the Ferrel homestead on Cabin Creek a son of George S. and Elizabeth (Pettit) Ferrel. Charlie attended school at the Sunny Ridge country school through the eighth grade and attended high school in Ollie where he graduated in 1940. Charlie and his father farmed for many years until Charlie decided to venture out on his own. He moved to the Broadus area and became partners in a Quarter Horse and Black Angus ranch. After many years he moved back to Baker and worked on numerous ranches in the area. Charlie owned and operated his own ranch up until the time of his death. Charlie made a lot of trips to Canada where he hauled his mares up to be bred to raise race horses which was one of his dreams. Anyone who knew Charlie knew he was a ?master chef? in his kitchen where he made the best pies, and was always asked to bring them for the holidays. Charlie loved Quarter Horses, cows, pigs and his chickens. He liked to dance, watch politics on TV but he especially loved being around his family and friends. The little kids in his life were his highlight. He liked to make them giggle by teasing or tormenting them. Charlie lived an amazing 90 years of life. He will truly be missed by all. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth, four brothers, George, Emil, Allie and Tommy and three sisters, Dollie, Gen and Nina. He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Perry of Cheney, WA and Ellen Gonsioroski of Baker, MT and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
