Funeral services for Charles H. Rounsville, 87, of Dickinson will be at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, December 12, 2009, at St. Patrick’s Catholic with Father Todd Krietinger Officiating. Burial will be in the St. Patrick?s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p. m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, ND. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. Friday, December 13, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home with Rosary and Vigil Service taking place at 6:30 p. m. Charles passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. Charles H. ?Chuck? Rounsville was born July 18, 1922, at Anoka, Minnesota. His parents were Harry and Minnie (Freschmidt) Rounsville. At the age of six, they moved to Clark Fork, ID where he grew up. His mother passed away shortly after they moved to Idaho. He was raised by a foster mother, Harriet Dobbins. He attended school and graduated from high school in 1941. Charles worked at a fish hatchery at Clark Fork for three years. In 1944, he went to work for the Northern Pacific Railroad, where he worked on a system welding crew. Charles moved to Mandan, North Dakota, in 1960 and married Dorothy Zachmeier in 1966. Dorothy passed away in 1978. Charles later married Martha Kubas on May 10, 1980. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad on July 2, 1982. Charles and Martha moved to Dickinson shortly after his retirement and have made their home there ever since. Charles was a Golden Age Eagle and a lifetime member of the BMWE Railroad Union. His hobbies included doing puzzles, reading, fishing and having coffee with his friends. Charles enjoyed watching baseball and football games on T. V. and was an avid Twins fan. His survivors include his wife, Martha; two step-sons, DuWayne (Vi) Zachmeier, Mandan, ND, and Arnie (Kathy) Meduna, Williston, ND; sister, Charlotte (Melvin) Stangel, Toledo, Oregon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; foster mother; first wife Dorothy Zachmeier one sister, Minnie Erickson; and six brothers, Frank, Herold, Bill, Leonard and two infant brothers.
