He was very active in the Hebron community. He served on the Hebron City Council, Hebron Economic Development Corporation, Hebron Lion’s Club, St. Ann Catholic Church,  was a former member of the Broken Arrow Saddle Club, Rolling Hill Snowriders Club and served as a director of the Hebron Farmers Elevator Co. He was also an active member of I-Band and R-Calf .

He enjoyed three trips with his wife to Brazil to visit their son Curt and attend his wedding and many trips to Omaha to visit daughter Carlee and her husband Richard and their children.

Chester is survived by his wife Jane, Hebron; daughter Carlee Seeba, Omaha, NE; son Curt (Regina) Berg, Melbourne, FL;  grandchildren Mike (Katie) Seeba and daughter Peyton Jade Seeba, Chester and Jane’s great granddaughter; Megan and Matt Arnold, Frisco, TX;  brothers Allan (Judy) Brandt, Bismarck; Daryl (Jean) Brandt, Glen Ullin; sister Margo Wetzel, Bismarck and sister-in-law Kim Brandt, Mandan,  plus numerous nieces and nephews and his two beloved dogs, Maggie and Tucker and the ranch’s cat, Boots.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Minnie Brandt; son-in-law Richard Seeba; brothers Chuck Brandt and Wally and Rayeann Brandt; sister, Annette Brandt and brother-in-law David Wetzel.

For this one rancher the worries are over, lie down and rest your head.
Your time has been and struggles enough,  put the tractor in the shed.

Years were not easy, many downright hard, but your faith in God transcended.
Put away your tools and sleep in peace. The fences have all been mended,

You raised a fine family, worked the land well under the hot, summer sun.
Hang up your shovel inside the barn, your work on earth is done.

A faith few possess led your journey thru life, often a jagged and stony way.
The sun is setting, the hay has been brought in and here now is the end of your day.

You always believed that the good Lord would provide and He always had somehow.
Take off your gloves and put them away, no more sweat and worry for you now.

Your labor is done, your home now is heaven, no more must you wait.
Your legacy lives on, your love of the Land and yes – we will close the gate.
