Christie Allen was born December 25, 1947 in Dickinson, the son of Walter and Margaret (Brandvik) Bandle. Growing up he attended and graduated from Killdeer Public Schools. Chris joined the US Navy in November 1966, serving his country in Vietnam and he was honorably discharged in August 1970. On June 17, 1972, Chris married Kathleen Kottsick. To this union three children were born: Aric, Alisha, and Tyler. They raised their family in Glen Ullin, where he was employed by Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative, Inc. as an electrical lineman. While his kids were growing up, Chris loved following their sporting activities. He was an active member of the volunteer fire department, the Lions Club and the American Legion. After retiring as a lineman, he moved back to Killdeer where he was employed at Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing for several years. Over the years, he enjoyed the time spent with visits from his grandchildren, his Harley and the many trips made to Sturgis, SD. He was also a member of POW-MIA Riders Motorcycle Club. Chris is survived by his sons, Aric (Mary) of Bismarck, Tyler of Fargo; daughter, Alisha (Travis) Thomas of Glen Ullin; brother, Russ Bandle of Killdeer; sister, DeeDee Sather of Bowman; grandchildren, Chase and Ashton Bandle, Taya Bandle, Tyus and Tahj Thomas, Jayden Schaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family would like memorial contributions to be made to a Veteran’s charity of one’s choice.
