Mass of Christian Burial for Christine Goroski, 82, of Baker, MT will be at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker, MT. Rite of Committal will follow in St. John?s Catholic Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, March 21st, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. Christine passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker, MT. Christine Helen Novacek was born on October 7, 1929, twelve miles north of Greenbush, MN a daughter of Joe and Josephine (Gonshorowski) Novacek. She was the fifth of eleven children born to the Novacek family. Christine was born at the family home and delivered with the help of a midwife. Christine grew up in the Greenbush area where she attended school from 1935 until 1942. To help her family Christine worked for various potato and wheat farms in the area. She did this until she turned 18. Christine left Greenbush and moved to Carlyle, MT. Here she worked on a farm hauling bundles of shocked grains. It was during this time that she met Joseph Goroski. Christine and Joe were married on October 12, 1948, in Leo, MN. Born to this union were four children: Jerry, Leonard, Marlene and Adrian. Following their marriage Christine and Joe made their home on the Goroski farm until the fall of 1963, when they moved to Baker where Christine and Joe made their home until their deaths. In March of 1961, Christine was diagnosed with Addison?s disease. Throughout her life she has encountered many health problems associated with the disease but was able to live a long and productive life. After moving into Baker, Christine took up the profession of being a painter. She painted many places including the old Fallon County Courthouse. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and fishing. She especially enjoyed the help of her granddaughter Chrissy. Christine loved the time spent with her two great-grandchildren, Grace and Arian. She liked being called ?Me Me? and often called Grace ?Cookie?. Christine is survived by her children, Jerry (Robin) Goroski, Great Falls, MT, Marlene O?Connell, Great Falls, MT and Adrian Goroski, Baker, MT; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Goroski, Lewistown, MT; six grandchildren, Patrick (Brenda) Goroski, Angie Goroski, Aaron Goroski, Colby and Cassidy O?Connell, and Chrissy (Bruce Dietz and two special ?adopted? grandchildren, Natasha (Chris Dietz) Alderman and Tanna (Mike) Dailey; three great-grandchildren, Arian, Grace and Jacek; three brothers, David Novacek, Lake Park, MN, Daniel Novacek and Joseph (Darlene) Novacek both of Greenbush, MN; one sister, Emilia of Warren, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Josephine, her husband, Joe Goroski, her son, Leonard Goroski, her son-in-law, Jerry O?Connell and her siblings, Ernest, Norbert, Jerome, Teresa, Leona and Bernadette.
