Graveside Services for Christine Heyd, 101 of Cambridge, MN will be 2:00 p. m. Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Plevna, MT with Pastor Bruce Kolasch officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 21, 2005 from 10:00 a. m. to 1:30 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker. Christine passed away Saturday, May 14, 2005 at the Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge, MN. Christine was born on December 31, 1903, in Long Lake, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Christine (Schmoll) Sandmeier. She married Christian Heyd at a country church in Long Lake, SD on November 29, 1923 and to this union 5 children were born; Ella, Leo, Lorenz, Lorraine and Marvin. Christine and her husband moved their family to Plevna, MT in 1929 and Ismay, MT in 1930. Christian died on November 25, 1954. Christine moved to Worden, MT in 1960, Billings MT in 1967 and has resided in Cambridge, MN since 1989. She has been a member of Plevna Peace Lutheran Church, Worden/Shepherd Lutheran Church, Billings Peace Lutheran Church, and joined the Cambridge Lutheran Church in 1989. Her hobbies were quilting and crocheting. She is survived by her children; Ella Hyde of Cambridge, Leo (Margaret) Heyd of Billings, MT, Lorenz (Viola) Heyd of Worden, MT, Lorraine (Clark) Fowler of St. George, UT, and Marvin (Carol) Heyd of Glenrock, WY; 21 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Jacob and Edward Sandmeier and two sisters Rose Faught and Margaret Stroh.
