Funeral Mass for Christine Leintz, 91, of Halliday, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, August 26, 2010, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Richardton, ND, with Father Boniface Muggli O. S. B. celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Richardton. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010, from 9:00 a. m. to 4:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson and will continue from 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Richardton with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 8:00 p. m. Christine passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Christine Amelia Leintz was born on April 21, 1919, to Balzar and Amelia (Dick) Hauck in Richardton, ND. She grew up in various areas around southwestern North Dakota, living near Richardton, Grassy Butte and Towner. After she finished her schooling, she continued to help at home for a number of years. On July 17, 1936, Christine married Joseph Leintz in Dodge, ND. The couple made their home on the family farm near Halliday. It was here where they raised their family. They moved to Milwaukee, WI, for a short time before returning home to the farm where they spent the rest of their lives Christine enjoyed cooking, canning pickles and making jelly, baking bread, gardening, and taking care of the chickens. Christine also enjoyed singing and playing German songs on the accordion and harmonica. She enjoyed visiting friends and neighbors, especially when the visits included playing a game of cards. She loved having family and friends around, especially her grandchildren. Christine is survived by her three daughters, Rose Kust, Bismarck, ND, Amy (Victor) Gegelman, Halliday, ND, and Dorothy (Ray) Dilger, Sula, MT; eight grandchildren, Colleene (Bernie) Schafer, Jason Kust, Michael (Crystal) Gegelman, Renee (Bo) Roberts, Jerome (Kendra) Gegelman, Laura (Chester) Buttler, Geraldine (Bob) McClure, and Marci Dilger; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Elenore Parkos, Bismarck, ND, Viola (Howard) Hanke, Florida, and Mary Bandler, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents; six brothers, Pius, Frank, Adam, Leo, Tommy, and Agotie Hauck; three sisters, Katherine Hauck, Rose Leintz, and Cecilia Leintz; and one son-in-law, Clarence Kust.
