Cindy Kolling was born February 5, 1959 in Dickinson, the daughter of Eugene and Beverly (Anner) Kolling. She grew up and attended catholic grade schools; graduating from Trinity High School with the class of 1977. After high school, Cindy went on to attend RD Hair Design School in Bismarck and graduated as a hairstylist in 1978. On August 13, 1982, Cindy and Leon Vetter were united in marriage at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, two children were born: Weston and Leighton. Together, the family made their home in Dickinson. While raising her children, Cindy worked at O’Hare Hair Studio. She then went to work at Gloria’s Hair Salon prior to joining American Bank Center as a teller and receptionist; retiring in 2014.

Cindy enjoyed visiting with others and could often be heard talking on the phone. In her free time, she liked to go shopping, work in her garden, and read a good book. The summers were spent with her family at their cabin on Mossett Bay and loved gatherings with family and neighbors there. She was such a compassionate person; always the caregiver to those in need. Cindy was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church where she taught CCD, and served on the St. Patrick’s Catholic School Board.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Leon of Dickinson; son, Weston Vetter of Dickinson; daughter, Leighton (Tyler) Ward of Dickinson; mother-in-law, Laura Vetter of Dickinson; and brother-in-law Craig (Kathy) Zander of Dickinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jodi Zander; and father-in-law, Casper Vetter.

Memorials in Cindy’s name may be sent to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 1825 46th Street, Mandan, ND 58554.
