Clarence Dohrmann, 92, Taylor, died Sunday, October 22, 2006, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Memorial services will be 2 p. m. Tuesday, at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Noel T. Vold officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday at 12:30 p. m. and will be in Immanuel Cemetery, rural Taylor, N. D. Visitation will be Monday at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m. followed by a celebration of his life and sharing. Visitation will continue Tuesday at Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church from 9 a. m. to noon. Clarence Dohrmann was born May 14, 1914 to Fred and Louisa (Haugen) Dohrmann at the homestead farm near Taylor. He attended country school and graduated from Taylor High School. He attended a winter short course at the Agricultural College in Fargo and the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. He married Lorraine Marcusen on June 26, 1940 and celebrated 61 years of marriage with his bride. Clarence farmed, ranched and lived on the original homestead all of his life. In 1937, the direction of Clarence?s life changed when he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during Bible Camp at the HT Ranch in the Badlands. His greatest joy was sharing his faith in Christ. For many years he worked with teenagers as a high school Sunday school teacher and Luther League advisor. For twenty years he was the manager of a Christ centered Family Bible Camp in Medora. He was active in the heritage services held in the Ridgeway Church and in the Gideons. He is survived by his children; two sons, Fred M. (Barb) and John (fiance? Deborah Ehanger), both of Taylor; four daughters; Sarah (Curtis) Jossart, Genoa, Illinois, Louisa (Sherman) Severson, Dickinson, Mary (Paul) Krienke, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, and Rachel (Robert) Haddon, Kennesaw, Georgia; four sisters-in-law, Hazel Harris, Colorado, Ethlyn Marcusen, and Kathryn Marcusen, Dickinson, and Shirly Severson, Taylor; 22 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He enjoyed welding, collecting and repairing old engines and tractors, sharing his chokecherry pie and chicken dumpling soup, the ?Holy Land Experience? and world travel. He loved telling stories about his growing up years. He was preceded in death by one infant son, Clarence Jr, his parents, his brothers Richard Dohrmann and William Severson, his sisters, Florence and Carol Dohrmann and his beloved wife, Lorraine.
