Funeral Service for Clarence Aaron Wenz, 78, of Plevna will be 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Plevna. Burial will be in the Community Union Cemetery, Plevna. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2005 from 9:00 a. m. to 7:00 p. m. at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, continuing on Wednesday one hour prior to service at the church. Clarence passed away Thursday, November 24, 2005 at his home north of Plevna. Clarence was born April 3, 1927 on the family farm near Plevna, the son of Andrew and Mathilda (Schuetzle) Wenz. He grew up and attended country schools in the Plevna area. Clarence was married to Ida Kron on January 25, 1953 in Plevna. To this union, two children were born: Judy and Clayton. Clarence and Ida purchased the family farm north of Plevna where they farmed together and were later joined by their son, Clayton. Clarence enjoyed farming, especially driving the tractors and working the ground. Clarence also enjoyed coming into town and visiting with his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church where he served as usher and sang in the church choir for many years. Clarence loved and cherished his two grandchildren and enjoyed their visits to the farm. Survivors include, his wife, Ida, Plevna; a son, Clayton, Plevna; a daughter, Judy (Chuck) Kirby, Rock Springs, WY; two grandchildren: Danny (Beth) Trenary, Grand Prairie, TX and Jennifer (Casey) Enreim, Bismarck; a brother, Rev. Herbert (Delores) Wenz, Lincoln, NE; two sister-in-laws: Lydia Wenz, Plevna and Bobbi Wenz, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Richard and Jonathan; and two sisters: Esther Heuer and Magdalena Ludwig.
