Funeral services for Claudia Sailer, 82, of Bismarck, formerly of Hebron, will be 11:00 a. m. CDT, Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the 1st Congregational Church in Hebron with Pastor Gaylund Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Congregational Cemetery in Hebron. Visitation will be from 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. CDT on Friday, May 7, 2010, at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home in Hebron with a prayer service at 7:00 p. m. CDT. Claudia passed away peacefully at the Baptist Home in Bismarck on May 5, 2010, with her family by her side. Claudia (Sibla) Sailer was born September 25, 1927, to John and Susan (Klopp) Sibla in Morton County, North Dakota. She grew up on the farm south of Glen Ullin, where she attended country school and later graduated from Glen Ullin High School. After graduation, Claudia married Adolph Sailer on May 4, 1946. The couple made their home in Hebron, where she was a homemaker and caring mother for her children. Claudia continued to make her home in Hebron until moving to Bismarck 10 years ago. Claudia enjoyed her daily quilting and sewing; she also loved baking, gardening and canning. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Claudia was a member of the 1st Congregational Church Guiding Light and the church choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Claudia is survived by her five children: Allan (Connie) Sailer, Dickinson, ND, Corinne (George) Welder, Bismarck, ND, Bruce (Susie) Sailer, Bozeman, MT, Denise (Mark) Portney, Paso Robles, CA, and Beverly Henshaw, Atascadero, CA; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Sailer, Bozeman, MT; a sister, Theresa Olson, Bismarck, ND; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends, especially Joan Scofield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adolph; a son, Dale; five sisters and one brother.
